AUSTRALIAN CHINESE COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION (ACCA)

ACCA provides a wide range of services to meet the needs of the Chinese community in Australia and promote mutual understanding between Australians of Chinese background and other Australians. ACCA also has been established for the member of the Chinese Community to access to the rights and services generally enjoyed by the Australian Community.

The attendance of the group includes staff, volunteers and clients of elderly with dementia.
The mission of ACCA is maintaining support to clients and carers to have a better quality of life through receiving a day care service at Harris Park Community Centre. Carers have the opportunity to take this respite service of the client so they have relief of holding the role of being the primary care provider. Activities include games, food, socialisation and physical exercise.

ACCA promotes the awareness of the care for the dementia people and their family, plenty of local residents who have the opportunity to come to the Harris Park Community Centre to join in the activities and building up a network of doctor, geriatric consultation of well organised schedule with families. ACCA promotes positive wellbeing for individuals and to link that back with community services and their carer.
